Readiness must be visible on an ordinary shift
A certificate cannot show whether an exit is blocked, a fire door is wedged open, an extinguisher is inaccessible, or a new process has changed the hazard. Walk the actual escape routes, verify isolation and alarm arrangements, interview shift personnel, and test whether contractors and temporary workers know what to do. The strongest evidence is routine control, not preparation just before an inspection.
A practical monthly review
- Changes in layout, occupancy, storage, chemicals, utilities, or ignition sources.
- Alarm, pump, hydrant, detector, extinguisher, emergency-lighting, and exit deficiencies.
