Industrial water risk is not limited to scarcity. It includes rising tanker dependence, groundwater permissions, wastewater compliance, and poor visibility into where water is actually consumed.
First step: water balance
A water balance maps intake, process use, cooling tower makeup, boiler feed, domestic consumption, ETP/STP output, losses, and discharge.
High-impact actions
- Repair leaks and overflowing tanks.
- Reuse treated STP/ETP water where quality permits.
- Optimize cooling tower cycles of concentration.
- Install metering for major departments and utilities.
- Plan rainwater harvesting based on site drainage.
You cannot manage water risk with a single inlet meter. Department-level visibility changes behavior.
Compliance angle
Better records also support CGWA, State PCB, and internal ESG reporting requirements.
